Meet Dilly: The real dog who inspired “A Home for Rukkus”
When Traci Simonton first met Dilly, her English Bull Terrier, she didn’t know he’d become the soul of her book. Dilly was a goofy, stubborn, pizza-crust-loving whirlwind with a head
Traci Simonton was born in a small town in Eastern Pennsylvania, where she spent her early years before trading snowy winters for the sunshine of Florida.
Traci Simonton is a college professor, child nutrition advocate, and Florida sun-seeker. With three degrees and two decades of service, she fights for kids’ futures by day and writes heartwarming stories by night.
She shares her home with a mischievous bull terrier, a blended family of four kids, and five grandkids. Her secret talents are creating interactive who-done-it events for family reunions and believing in second chances for dogs and people.
